Lodging and Registration Fees
due 19 August 2012

Please note that Lodging and Registration fees must be paid separately.

Depending on the choice of lodging, each guest can expect a total conference cost (including lodging and meals, excluding transportation) in the range of $600-$900. Details are below.

Lodging

EPOC 2012 will be held at the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, Oregon. Reservations and payment for lodging need to be made by guests directly with Timberline Lodge at 1-800-547-1406 (mention Eastern Pacific Ocean Conference for our group rates) by 19 August 2012. After this date rooms set aside for EPOC will be released to the general public and may not be available (see off-site lodging options below). For single-occupancy rooms, group rates range from $154 to $330 per night, though most rooms will be ~$229 per night, or $686 for the full conference (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights). This price includes meals -- vouchers for a single dinner, three breakfasts, and two lunches -- as well as taxes and gratuity. For the most common room, shared prices are $140 per person per night, or $420 per person for the entire conference. If you are bringing guests, or choosing to room with another scientist, please make sure that you book a room with the proper occupancy as this will cover each persons lodging and meals. If you would like to share a room with another scientist (to meet someone new and reduce your lodging costs!) but do not know anyone attending, contact Sarah Giddings with any roommate preferences and she will try to pair people up.

Registration

A registration fee of $210 will cover additional conference costs, including facility use, snacks, banquet dinner, poster session appetizers, lunch during the business meeting, and fireside chat. This fee is payable to EPOC by 19 August via PayPal (see the link below) or via check (please contact Noel Pelland). If you are bringing an adult guest, there is an additional registration fee to cover the banquet dinner and poster session appetizers of $50.

Registration closed.

Transportation

Directions to and from the Portland Airport, as well as contact information for airport service and other transportation options for out-of-town guests, are available on the Timberline website. We encourage carpooling! Guests arriving by air and wishing to share transportation from the airport to Timberline are encouraged to email Sarah to help coordinate arrival information and travel plans. Sarah Giddings or Al Hermann are also available for help in case of unresolved transportation or arrival issues.

Off-site lodging options

One option for alternative lodging would be the Mount Hood Inn, 1-800-780-7234. This Inn, as well as several other lodging options, are located in Government Camp, 4 miles down the mountain from Timberline. You will need to arrange for your own transportation. You are still invited to eat at Timberline, however you will need to pay for each meal on your own (except for the thursday night poster session and friday night banquet which are covered by the registration fees).
